Today we attended for the first time the English speaking service at one of Nanjing's registered churches. St Paul's was founded as an Anglican church and was the first church in Nanjing; the building that St Paul's uses today was built in 1923. The tower is covered with ivy!
The English speaking service is at 10.45, and the congregation is made up of a lot of Chinese young people, university students, graduates, etc, and some westerners. The format of the worship was traditional, but full of life; and the message, from a teacher at Nanjing Union Seminary, good.
More on perceptions of church another time. And pictures on flickr here.
