Se, Jie / Lust, Caution : Thr New Ang Lee Movie

"A film filled with great beauty and danger, Lust, Caution might end up as the definitive film on pre-Revolution Shanghai, its decadence and brutality, its glamour and hidden debauchery." Lust,Caution was shown at the Toronto International Film Festival in early September.

It's setting in Old International Settlement Shanghai, and during the Jaanese occupation makes me want to seee it. We will have to see about the sex.

The movie, on public release late September in the US and Canada (and to be released in the new year in the UK) has been out in China for two weeks and is a major hit: "Lust, Caution" rakes in 90 mln yuan on Chinese mainland in 2 weeks reports in Xinhua . The censored edition viewable in China reportedly has considerable more caution and less lust. Many are however crossing to Hong Kong to see the uncut version, and a Chinese PhD student is suing her nations movie censor for the right to see the whole thing.
